The N.O.V.A. Principles Foundation is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that is dedicated to providing resources to children, families, and communities to fight against harmful influences while providing guidance toward positive opportunities and values.
One elementary student, AF, said, “Many things in life can be amazing and make you happy. But there are also things which will mess up your brain and change your life for the worst. As I grow up, I want to stay away from all those awful things…” Another elementary student, PR, said, “There are many people in the world that I would love to be like and many that I do not want to be like. Only I can make decisions for me and I have learned from the NOVA program the decisions I want to make…Some good things I would like to do are: learn to study right and study hard, learn how to enjoy serving others…Most importantly, I want to be a good person who is kind to others and is a good friend. I will try my best to follow the NOVA principles in order to be the best I can be.”
These two students represent tens of thousands of students that have participated in NOVA since 2003. School Principals share the behavioral changes observed by faculty and staff in NOVA participants. Some of those behavioral changes include: less bullying, reduction of angry outburst, and students positive peer mentoring.
Parents are saying, the self-esteem and bullying section gave us a lot to talk about. One said, “having the parent emails explaining the lessons were a huge help!” Another said, “now my son stands up for his friends!” One more said, “I’ve put 6 kids through this program and every one of them loved it. I know NOVA contributes to helping me raise children with good values.”
You can make a difference in the life of these students and their families.
