Invasion of the Habitat Snatchers: Non-Native Invasive Plants Presentation with APCC and Village Garden Club

Please join Dennis Conservation Land Trust (DCLT), the Village Garden Club of Dennis, and the Association to Preserve Cape Cod for a rousing talk about non-native invasive plants on Cape Cod. This free educational presentation focuses on the problems that invasive plant species are causing in our native ecosystems.

Presenters, Tyler Maikath (DCLT) and Kristin Andres (APCC) will share facts and misconceptions about these plants as well as answer common questions. Which species are the biggest ecological problems locally? What can homeowners and property managers do to control the spread of invasive plants and ensure the survival of native species? What species can we plant to replace invasive plants in our yards? After the presentation, participants will have the option of joining a walk outside, where we will learn to identify several plants within a short distance of the Dennis Police Station.

The event will take place on April 6th, 2:00 - 3:30 PM. The location is the Dennis Police Station meeting room at 90 Bob Crowell Rd., South Dennis. This talk is free.
