This policy sets out how the Village Walk for Cancer Research (hereafter “WFCR”) uses and protects the information you provide when using our website. We are committed to making sure your privacy is protected. Should we ask you to provide certain information for a specific transaction or purpose, you can be assured that it will be used in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Information contained in this policy may be updated as needed. The current policy effective date is December 5, 2022.


1. Information We Collect. You may give us data about yourself when you fill out a form (example: event registration form) on our website or communicate with us by phone or email. Examples of data you may provide to us includes: name, address, email address, phone number, etc.

2. Why We Collect Your Information: We do not collect any more information about you than is required by law or when there is a valid reason for doing so such as:

·        Complete event registration and process payment you initiate and authorize

·        Plan and execute events (order participant’s t-shirts, registration sheets)

·        Provide you with your tax acknowledgement letters for received donations

·        To communicate with you, and

·        Comply with legal requirements and actions

3. Email Communications / Marketing. To stop receiving newsletters or marketing communications from us, please use the “unsubscribe” link contained within the newsletter.

4. Disclosure to Third Parties. We may share your information with third-party service providers who perform services on our behalf and require access to that information. Examples include payment processors and data storage service providers. We have contracts with these third-party service providers designed to safeguard your information. This means they cannot use the information unless instructed to by us. It also means they cannot share your information with anyone except us.

5. Keeping Your Information Safe. We have policies and procedures as well as technical protocols in place to keep your information safe. However, no electronic transmission over the internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed 100% secure and we cannot promise that cybercriminals or unauthorized third parties will be unable to defeat the safeguards that are in place.
